DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) and TEGA (Tech for Every Gen-Alpha) is a project targeted towards Almajiris and Orphans in Badarawa, Kaduna between the ages of 7 and 11, teaching them literacy (phonics and reading) and computer literacy, thereby giving them access to books and other resources. These children have no access to formal education. The Almajiris end up begging on the streets while many of these orphans hawk when their mates are in school. This is why Mariacutty Foundation, Kaduna International School and Young African Bookworms have partnered to implement this project.
